Match page

A match page shows one team match: the two teams, home team first, and every line they played.

  • The heading: each team's club name opens the club's page for that season, when the Desk has one (how to find a club).
  • The line under it: the league, the date and the score.

Each line is one person's or one pair's match inside the team match (what counts as a line).

  • The line's heading: such as “Singles 1” or “Doubles 2”, with the score as the scorecard printed it, usually winner first.
  • A row for each side: its players and any Desk levels the Desk has measured from their rated lines.
  • won: the side that won the line.
  • combined estimate: a pair's two levels added together, in a league that adds them.
  • A name: opens that player's page when one person on that side's roster that season has it.
  • “Name withheld by request”: a player who asked the Desk to withhold their name, with no link and no level.
  • upset: the side with the lower Desk levels on the page won, by more than a small gap (more on upsets).
  • default: one side could not field this line: a line nobody played, which counts in no record (more on defaults).
  • counts twice: in an Adult 40 & Over league with four lines, a Doubles 1 win is worth 2 points (more on league tables).
  • What these marks mean: opens the FAQ.

Recap, earlier meetings and the next meeting

Section titled “Recap, earlier meetings and the next meeting”

“Recap” says who won and names any upset. “Earlier meetings” lists the other times the two teams have met, and “Next meeting” shows the next one on the schedule.

When the Desk covers either team, the link See each line's win chance near the end of the page opens the pricing page. On a match page, each line's win chance needs a Desk Pass.

The Desk records how pages are used, including what is typed, and keeps recordings for up to 30 days, as the terms explain.
