Does winning move you up a level? At 4.0 and up, winning three-quarters of a season's matches usually isn't enough. Does the home team really win more? The home team wins 55.7%, and about a fifth of that comes from visitors who can't fill every line. Does winning at sectionals decide who gets bumped? Sectionals players who won a line moved up 3.6 times as often as those who lost every line. Where do you have to finish to get bumped? At the top of the range 17.0% of players moved up, and three tenths past it 76.0%. What happens after a bump? Players who moved up a level won 50.7% of their lines the next season, and 9.7% moved back down. Does putting your best pair on line 1 win more matches? Teams that put their best pair on line 1 won 51.3% of closely matched team matches.
